Impact Therapy is a therapy that combines creative counseling techniques and four major theories (REBT, TA, PROACTION and a theory based on evolution of our species). It provides the therapists with ways to frame and evaluate the therapy process. This approach is action, solution and insight oriented. We call the approach Impact Therapy because it emphasizes helping the client as much as possible in each session. The therapist is always trying to get to the core of the problem by cutting off unnecessary details, irrelevant stories, and unfocused discussions. The impact therapist sees the goal of any therapy session as creating change or setting in motion the process for change.
The program includes 11 workshops (13 days) and 3 half-day workshops. After completion of the courses, the applicants must succeed a final exam and write a thesis or make a presentation to colleagues. Part of the program is now available online in English. The complete program is available online in French.
